As IoT is starting to take off and we’ve seen some implementations, we’ll look at some early IoT privacy and security failures. Can we learn from this to determine how responsible companies should build a legally defensible IoT governance framework?

We know that as the IoT grows, there will be privacy and security implications for both consumers and companies. Consumers are losing control of how information about them is being used. Companies are relying more and more on “Trust Economics” in order to acquire and retain customers. We’ll look at some examples of how IoT has failed consumers, and the impact this has on companies. We’ll talk about how companies can learn from this and build a legally defensible IoT governance framework to avoid these pitfalls that damage brand.
